New resources for recorders available on our website
21 January 2025
We’ve recently added a few new things to our resources library which we hope will encourage even more biological recording in Herefordshire!
The first is a very helpful comparison of all the main recording apps out there, put together by our colleagues at Greenspace Information for Greater London CIC (GiGL). It includes information on identification and verification processes, data flow and licensing, among other things. So if you use an app or apps for recording or you’re thinking of trying one, this will be an interesting read.
The second is new checklists for two beetle families, the Carabidae (ground beetles) and Chrysomelidae (leaf and seed beetles) of Herefordshire. These have been compiled by Tim Kaye with contributions from Giles King-Salter, Ian Draycott and HBRC, and list the entirety of each family, with those that have been recorded in Herefordshire indicated in bold. A great resource for identifying and filling some of the gaps in these somewhat under-recorded groups in our county.
