A dedicated group of people turned up on the 8th August to try and discover more of the wildlife on their doorstep.
Headed by the Friends of Bartonsham Meadows Group. The idea was to add records of all species to the site to determine its wildlife interest.
Undoubtedly the find of the day was by a young girl who spotted Wasp Spider Argiope Bruennichi. This is a species that was only found in southern counties but is expanding its range possibly due to climate change.
Hopefully the group and other residents will keep spotting and add to our collective knowledge of the site so it can be conserved.
