Join local ‘Batman’ James Bisset for an introduction to the magical world of Bats and how you can appreciate and record these “Angels of the Night”. After an introductory talk we’ll take a walk round the lake looking for likely bat roosts and fleeting glimpses of these illusive flying mammals and learning how to record what we find through the Bat Conservation Trust’s ‘Sunset’ National Bat Monitoring Programme survey scheme. No bat detectors are required for this survey, but the evening will include an introduction to bat echolocation through loan bat detectors supplied. Sunset is at 20:30 and the event will draw to a close around 10.30 - 11pm
